The Brazilian health department are reporting 35,000 new dengue cases per week, a significant increase above the average. Although cases are across the country, large numbers are particularly being seen in San Paulo and Minas Gerais. Transmitted by a daytime biting mosquito, insect avoidance measures are encouraged for all travellers.
