Chile – Hepatitis A

The International Society of Infectious Disease is reporting a significant increase in hepatitis A in Chile,  779 cases having been reported so far this year. This is 140% increase compared to the same date of 2017, with Coronel, Talcahuano and Concepcion being the most affected. Hepatitis A is a food and water borne disease, for which a safe and effective vaccine exists. Travellers to Chile and any other developing country should make an appointment with one of our travel doctors to discuss this and other vaccines.
